iTunes Approaches 500 Million Songs
The iTunes Music Store is rapidly approaching a half billion songs sold, and whoever buys number 500 million will find themselves the winner of some pretty nice prizes:
And the music fan who purchases that song will receive a prize that’s just as dramatic — 10 iPods for yourself and family or friends (choose from any model iPod, iPod mini, iPod U2, or iPod shuffle); a gold 10,000-song gift card for the music store; 10 additional 50-song gift cards to go with those iPods; and a trip for you and three guests to see Coldplay on its current tour, with front-row seats (subject to availability), and “back-stage” passes for a meet n’ greet with the band (guaranteed availability).
And just for kicks, the buyer of every 100,000th song up to 500,000,000 will win an iPod mini with a 50-song gift card. Not too shabby.
Update: Well, the 500,000,000th song was finally sold. Amy Greer of Lafayette, Indiana, purchased Mississippi Girl by Faith Hill to become the grand prize winner. Congratulations!
